Brixx Pizza Comes to Cary

Brixx Pizza Comes to Cary

Pizza is my favorite food. I know it sounds childish, but I could seriously eat pizza everyday. One of the reasons, I don’t consume pizza for every meal is that it’s typically not the most nutritious food available. That was before I found Brixx Pizza, a restaurant specializing in wood-fired pizzas. In preparation for opening their newest store in Cary, Brixx Pizza sent out a Facebook blast inviting anyone interested in a free appetizer, entree and dessert to sign up and RSVP for their allotted training times. I jumped at a chance for a free pizza lunch thinking that I might splurge a little on the fattening side, but I was pleasantly surprised by the large selection of healthy, vegetarian and gluten free items on the menu.

Brixx for Kids

My husband and 3-year-old, Liam joined me for free pizza, and we all ended up having a fun lunch date. Our server brought Liam a cup full of crayons and a menu filled with puzzles, mazes and coloring. Liam kept busy with his menu while my husband and I scanned the large adult menu. Menu items included appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and dessert. They also had a substantial beer, wine and cocktail menu that boasted 24 beers on tab plus a nice selection of NC brews.

spinach and artichoke dip

We selected the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer.  Crunchy, toasted bread was served along side the dip. It was actually the best spinach and artichoke dip we ever had.

Our server did a wonderful job of keeping Liam entertained while we waited for our pizzas. She brought him a small slice of gluten-free dough to play with. He made a dough mustache and his own pasta. Our server also put his order of cheese pizza in right away, so he didn’t have to wait too long to eat, and it was long before our pizzas were ready.

Brixx Pizza

My husband ordered the Americano pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms on the traditional crust while I chose the Hawaiian pizza on whole wheat crust, with ham, fresh pineapples and cilantro. All pizzas are 10 inches which makes it easy to share with others in your group.

tiramisu, dessert

We saved a little room for dessert as we shared some tiramisu. It was incredibly sweet, and I’m glad we split it between the three of us. I’m looking forward to the weather getting warmer, so we can go back to Brixx Pizza and dine on the patio.

My 7 year old daughter was just told we had to go gluten free. Been worrying about good GF pizza and would love to try their GF options.

    1. Rachel says:

They prepare their gluten free items in a separate area. They are good about accommodating allergy and diet restrictions.
