Spring is in the air. The buds are blooming, the sun is shinning, and you feel like there is even a spring to your step. You are ready to bid winter farewell, and remember the day your kids smiled the entire day. That’s how I was feeling when I was looking at the snowy pictures of the kids that we had made in December. I was ready to refresh our pictures and bring the spring weather inside. The only problem with Spring is that our schedules get cluttered again with Spring Break, soccer, and t-ball.

I was planning on visiting family, and I was trying to figure out a time to squeeze in pictures. Than it came to me- what if the boys had their pictures taken with their cousins?!!  We could have a few family pictures taken- perfect for Spring or Easter gifts for grandparents, and I could get a couple individual pictures taken with the boys. My plan was falling into place.

Our Christmas pictures were taken at Portrait Innovations, and I really liked the finished product. Although I was disappointed that the cards we ordered online were received after Christmas, I decided that my in-studio experience made up for this discrepancy. I would also stick to ordering prints in store. After all, I do believe in second chances. 🙂

I went to the Portrait Innovations website, and found a location near my family in Gastonia. They have a lovely location in Gaston Mall (it’s still called Gaston Mall; it’s near Julie’s). Portrait Innovations offers convenient hours for appointments, and we were in and out in 1 hour which is incredible with 4-kids under 8. We shopped for about 15 minutes at Julie’s and our pictures were ready.

You never know how pictures with kids are going to turn out. My sisters’ youngest is 1-years-old, and she was ready for a nap. My boys were more interested in playing with the Lego’s at the store than smiling for the camera, yet somehow Ashlee, our photographer helped dry away some tears and captured beautiful smiles. I also loved the fun Spring backgrounds and poses that made the pictures pop.

We got some incredible pictures of the cousins together, and we surprised Grandma with a picture of her grandkids.

Rachel, you are correct; the pics are gorgeous. Sarah gave me some of my grandbabies. Love the outcome of the photographer’s work. Also love your blogs.
