Speeding into Spring
Winter seemed to linger a little longer this year with its cold days and the unexpected snow storm. Then like a speeding car, Spring has finally arrived. The golden powder has descended upon our cars and has left us wheezing for air. While we tend to suffer through the growing pains of Spring, we also become excited by the longer and warmer days. The housing market perks up and like budding tulips a myriad of new houses hit the market. We start to de-clutter and clean, and hopes of selling and buying a new house become a reality again. In celebration of Spring, I will be sharing a weekly round up of a real estate, local activities, fun and fitness.
The Spring Market is the busy season for real estate. If you have been thinking about selling, now is the time. I’ve been seeing and experiencing multiple offers on houses in the Triangle. If you are interested in buying, come to my Open House this Sunday, April 8th from 2-4 pm at 5009 Jesmond Place, Raleigh. This house is listed by Coldwell Banker Howard Perry & Walston, and is located in the desirable Harrington Grove neighborhood off Leesville Rd and close to 540.
The Southern Ideal Home Show is happening this weekend at the NC State Fairgrounds. From Friday, April 6- Sunday, April 8th, you can get ideas for home decorating, remodeling, and landscaping and meet with over 200 home improvement experts. Hands-on activities include a make-it and take-it workshop and beer and wine sampling in the Pub Sheds. The Home Show is a good place to get excited about selling, buying, or just fixing up your house. Tickets are $9 at the door and kids 12 and under are free! You can buy discounted tickets online.
I like to think of Spring as the kick off party to Summer. Warmer weather means driving the car with the top-down in my GT-production sports car with my hair blowing in the wind, but then I catch myself and realize that I need to sell a lot more houses. In the mean time, I can fullfill my dream of riding in a sports car at the Pirelli World Challenge exhibit at the Virginia International Raceway on April 27-29th. This family friendly event showcases competitive racing between exotic cars such as Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Chevrolet Corvette, Nissan, Audi, Bentley, Acura, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz and Aston-Martin. There will also be Formula One ride along experiences and up-close interaction with the GT-production sports cars in the special paddock area.
The best part is that I am giving away a family 4-pack for one day of the event. VIR is an easy drive ( 1 hour and 15 minutes) from Raleigh, but it’s also an amazing place for a weekend get-a-way with on-site lodging and restaurants. You can also purchase tickets for the Pirelli World Challenge at VIRNow. Kids 16-years-old and under are free plus discounts for military personnel. Ready to Race into Spring and win some tickets? Tell me in the comments your favorite GT-production sports car. Winners will be chosen randomly on Friday, April 20th.
Check back next week for the next Spring Sharing update. I plan to add a fitness tip too!
