It’s July in the Triangle, and everything is Hot including the real estate market. Wake County saw a 3% increase in real estate sales during the 2nd quarter as compared 2017, and we are moving steadily into the 3rd quarter. Homes priced below $400,000 are closing fast with multiple offer situations and new home builders are seeing an uptick as well. Check out this Midtown beauty in Raleigh listed by Brian Zachrich of Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston. It’s priced to sell!

There is no shortage of things to-do in the Triangle from sunflower fields to ice cream shops. Here a few fun activities to enjoy with the entire family.

An early Saturday morning trek to the Sunflower fields at Dorthea Dix park (take Western Blvd to Hunt Drive). Be amazed by the beauty of the sunflowers. Take pictures, run or just relax and enjoy the view.

More American than Apple Pie? How about reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and receiving a free ice cream cone. Andia’s Ice Cream in Cary has joined the I Pledge Project to celebrate patriotism for our great country. Bring your kids to Andia’s Ice Cream any Sunday in July from 12-2 p.m. for a free ice cream cup/cone. Participants (aged 12 years-old and younger) must recite the pledge from memory).

It’s the final weekend to view the NC Art Museum’s You Are Here: Light, Color and Sound Experience. I haven’t been, but my Instagram is blowing up with rave reviews and pictures. The exhibit takes up one entire floor inside the museum as well extends to the park area. Pizza, beer, wine, and other beverages will be available to purchase on Friday and Saturday night from 5:30 pm to 1:30 am. (photo courtesy of pattychase919, be sure to follow her on Instagram).

Every weekend should be filled with a little house hunting. I recently learned about renovation loans for home that need that a little help. It could be updates as little as painting to a whole gut job. HPW Towne offers Renovation Loans for the Fixer Upper type of home buyer. I found a couple diamond in the rough homes that could use a renovation (see below). Please contact me if you would like to see these houses or contact Doug Anderson for lending information.
